Beef Vindaloo


Ingredients

  1. Boneless beef cubes - 1/2 kilo
  2. Ginger - garlic paste - 3 Tbsp
  3. Vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  4. Onion - 1 no (finely chopped)
  5. Tomato - 2 nos (finely chopped)
  6. Cinnamon sticks - 1 piece
  7. Cardamom - 2 nos
  8. Cloves - 1 no
  9. Fennel seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  10. Mustard seeds (skinless) - 1/4 Tsp
  11. Pepper powder - 1Tsp
  12. Yoghurt - 1 Tbsp
  13. Kashmiri chili powder - 1 Tbsp
  14. Salt - As required
  15. Oil - 2 Tbsp
Preparation
  1. Take vinegar, ginger-garlic paste, yogurt, Kashmiri chili powder, pepper powder, salt in a bowl. Mix in the beef cubes until evenly coated. Marinate in the refrigerator overnight(at least 1 hour).
  2. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a pan and saute onion, tomatoes until they become soft and translucent.
  3. Add cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, mustard seeds, fennel seeds and saute for another 2 minutes.
  4. Finely grinds this masala with little water.
  5. Place a pressure cooker and heat one Tbsp oil.
  6. Add onion masala mixture to this and saute until oil separates from this.
  7. Now add the marinated beef, Stir in for another 5 minutes and cook until done.
  8. Beef Vindaloo is ready to serve with plain rice or chapati.
