Dahi Chicken / Chicken in Yogurt
Ingredients
- Chicken - 500 g
- Onion - 3 nos (finely chopped)
- Ginger - garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
- Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
- Chilli - 3 nos (finely chopped)
- Yogurt - 1 cup
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
- Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Cumin seed powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
Preparation
- Heat oil in a Kadai and add chopped onions.
- Saute onion till it becomes soft.
- Add the ginger garlic paste till the raw smell goes off.
- Add tomato & chili pieces.
- when the oil starts to separate, add all spice powders and salt.
- Add yogurt, medium chicken pieces and one cup of water.
- Close the Kadai with a lid and cook for 20 minutes or till the chicken cooked well enough.
- Garnish with Coriander leaves.
