Dahi Chicken / Chicken in Yogurt



Ingredients
  1. Chicken - 500 g
  2. Onion - 3 nos (finely chopped)
  3. Ginger - garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
  4. Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
  5. Chilli - 3 nos (finely chopped)
  6. Yogurt - 1 cup
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
  9. Red chili powder - 1 tbsp
  10. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  11. Cumin seed powder - 1/2 tsp
  12. Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  13. Oil - 3 tbsp
  14. Salt - to taste
Preparation
  1. Heat oil in a Kadai and add chopped onions.
  2.  Saute onion till it becomes soft.
  3. Add the ginger garlic paste till the raw smell goes off.
  4. Add tomato & chili pieces.
  5. when the oil starts to separate, add all spice powders and salt.
  6. Add yogurt, medium chicken pieces and one cup of water.
  7. Close the Kadai with a lid and cook for 20 minutes or till the chicken cooked well enough.
  8. Garnish with Coriander leaves.
