Thari pola (Semolina Cake)
Thari pola is a special malabar dish which is almost similar to rawa cake.It is a very easy cake that can be made without oven and with a little time.
Ingredients
- Semolina - 1/2 cup
- Eggs - 4
- Sugar - 5-6 tbsp
- Cardamom powder - 1 Tsp
- Ghee - 2 Tsp
- Cashew nuts - 5
- Raisins - 8
Preparation
- In a pan roast semolina for 3-4 minutes at low flame and let it cool.
- Mix egg, sugar and cardamom powder in a bowl.
- Beat it with a mixer till fluffy.
- Add fried semolina in small quantity at a time and fold in.
- Add 1 tsp ghee and mix well.
- Heat pressure cooker over a low flame and add 1 tsp ghee.
- Pour semolina - egg mixture into it and close the lid without weight.
- After 3 minutes open the lid and add cashews & raisins.
- Keep this in low flame until steam comes out through the nozzle or insert a toothpick and check it comes out clean.
