Thari pola (Semolina Cake)

Thari pola is a special malabar dish which is almost similar to rawa cake.It is a very easy cake that can be made without oven and with a little time.

Ingredients

  1. Semolina                   -  1/2 cup
  2. Eggs                          -  4
  3. Sugar                         - 5-6 tbsp
  4. Cardamom powder   -  1 Tsp
  5. Ghee                          -  2  Tsp
  6. Cashew nuts               - 5
  7. Raisins                        - 8
Preparation
  1. In a pan roast semolina for 3-4 minutes at low flame and let it cool.
  2. Mix egg, sugar and cardamom powder in a bowl.
  3. Beat it with a mixer till fluffy.
  4. Add fried semolina in small quantity at a time and fold in.
  5. Add 1 tsp ghee and mix well.
  6. Heat pressure cooker over a low flame and add 1 tsp ghee.
  7. Pour semolina - egg mixture into it and close the lid without weight.
  8. After 3 minutes open the lid and add cashews & raisins.
  9. Keep this in low flame until steam comes out through the nozzle or insert a toothpick and check it comes out clean.
