Besan Laddu

Diwali means festival of lights but foodies like me its festival of sweets. I really started enjoying Diwali celebration after reaching Mumbai.Most of the homes and buildings are decorated with lights and bakeries full of Diwali hampers packed with sweet and savory bites like Diwali fruit cake, Anjeer ki barfi, dry fruits, cookies and more.The other thing which flashes through our mind during Diwali is of multicolored and impressive fireworks in the night sky.So for kids, it's really a good time to enjoy with sweets and crackers.



Ingredients
  1. Besan (Chickpea flour) - 1 cup
  2. Sugar (powdered) - 1/2 cup
  3. Ghee - 1/4 cup
  4. Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  5.  Nutmeg powder - 1/4 tsp (optional)

Preparation

  1. Sieve in besan, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder in a large bowl and keep it aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a Kadai on low flame and add besan flour when ghee melts.
  3. Roast it over a low flame until we get a nice aroma of roasted besan and it turns golden brown.
  4. Remove from flame and allow this to cool for 8-10 minutes.
  5. When the mixture is slightly warm, add powdered sugar and mix until the sugar is incorporated well with besan.
  6. Take a lemon sized portion and give them a shape of a laddu.
