Beef Roast

First of all, I am sorry to those who does not like beef.This is one of the best dish I ever cooked. In my last post, I had mentioned about beef roast that I had from Lathika chechi and after that, some of my friends requested me the recipe. I thought, rather than giving the recipe to them directly, it is better to post here. So, here is special beef roast Achayan's style.



Ingredients
  1. Beef                          - 1 kilo
  2. Ginger garlic paste   - 2 tbsp
  3. Tomato                     -  1
  4. Onion                        - 1
  5. Shallots                     - 1 cup(coarsely chopped)
  6. Garam masala           - 1 tsp
  7. Fenugreek seeds       -  1/4 tsp
  8. Vinegar                     -  1 tsp
  9. pepper powder          - 1 tsp
  10. turmeric powder       - 1/2 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder      - 1 tbsp
  12. Coriander powder    - 2 tbsp
  13. Bite size coconut pieces(thenghakothu) - 1/2 cup
  14. Curry leaves              - few
  15. Coconut Oil               - 2 tbsp
Preparation

  

  1. Combine the beef with ginger garlic, sliced onion, tomato, red chilli powder, coriander and turmeric powder, vinegar, fenugreek seeds, salt, curry leaves & 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil.
  2.  Pressure cook the beef till it is done. I usually don't add water while cooking, but if you want you can add 2-3 tbsp of water.



  3. Heat oil in a pan and saute the shallots and coconut pieces, till it becomes golden brown.
  4. Add pepper powder and little red chilli powder.You can adjust according to spiciness required.

  5. Add the cooked beef & curry leaves. If you want you can sprinkle garam masala at this stage. Mix well. Stir over a low flame, till it is roasted well.
  6. Serve hot with chapati or paratha.
