Dal Fry
Dal Fry is a popular north indian recipe.It is moderately spiced with a combination of masoor dal and yellow moong dal.Dal fry tastes best when it is served with jeera rice.Quick and easy to make.

- yellow moong dal - 1/4 cup
- Red masoor dal -1 cup
- Turmeric -1/4 tsp
- Green chillies -2
- Grated ginger -1 tsp
- Grated garlic -1 tsp
- Ghee -2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
- Onions -1/2 cup
- Coriander -1 tbsp
- salt
- Combine 2 1/2 cups of water,dals,turmeric,chillies,ginger garlic and salt,mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Heat the ghee in a kadhai, add the mustard seeds,cumin seeds on a medium flame for a few seconds.
- Add the onions and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, till the onions turn translucent.
- Add the prepared cooked dal, ¼ cup of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Serve immediately garnished with coriander.
