Peshawari Chicken

Peshawari chicken or Peshawari chicken Karahi (Kadai) is one of the famous food recipes in Peshawar city, Pakistan as the name implies. It is easy to make with simple ingredients but the taste of this dish cannot be explained in words.It has different cooking styles with more oil or less oil, spicier or less spicy that varies according to our taste. Here I made with medium oil and spiciness.
Ingredients
  1. Chicken - 500 g
  2. Onion - 2 nos (finely chopped)
  3. Tomato - 2 big (finely chopped)
  4. Green chillies - 3 nos
  5. Ginger paste - 2 tbsp
  6. Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  7. Coriander leaves - 3 tbsp
  8. Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  9. Pepper powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
  10. Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  11. Salt - to taste
  12. Curd - 2 tbsp
  13. Oil - 1/2 cup
Preparation
  1. Heat oil in a Kadai and add chicken pieces, ginger - garlic paste, and salt.
  2. Saute for 8 minutes and remove chicken from oil.
  3. In the same Kadai, add chopped onion, Coriander leaves, green chillies and saute this for 2 minutes.
  4. Add curd, red chili powder, pepper powder, garam masala.
  5. Mix the masala for 2 minutes till raw smell goes.

  6. Add chicken pieces, tomatoes and saute for another 2 minutes.
  7. Close the Kadai with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with chapati, Naan or Tandoor roti.
