Sweet Tamarind Chutney |
Ingredients
- Deseeded dates - 7 nos
- Tamarind - Lemon size
- Grated Jaggery - 1/4 cup
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 Tbsp
- Cumin seed powder / Jeera powder - 1/4 Tsp
- Dry ginger powder or ginger - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - To taste
- Soak 50 gms tamarind in warm water.
- In a pan boil jaggery, tamarind pulp and dates together with just enough water.
- Add all the powders and mix well on a medium flame until it reaches a saucy consistency.
- Mash it well with a potato masher.
- Allow it to cool and strain using a soup strainer to get all the pulp out of it.
- We can store this in a airtight container in the refrigerator and use it for 15-20 days.
- Best chutney for chaat recipes.
