Pavakka Pachadi || പാവയ്ക്ക പച്ചടി || Kerala style pachadi




Ingredients
  1. Bitter gourd - 2 cups
  2. Ginger - 1 Tsp
  3. Green chilli - 5 nos
  4. Grated coconut - 2 cups
  5. Mustard seeds - 1 Tsp
  6. Cumin seeds - 1/4 Tsp
  7. Curd - 1.5 cups
  8. Curry Leaves - few
For tempering
  1. Mustard - 1/2 Tsp
  2. Red chilli - 2 Nos
  3. Curry leaves - few
Preparation
  1. Cut cleaned bitter Gourd in semi circle.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry bitter gourd.
  3. Grind grated coconut with mustard and cumin seeds.
  4. Cook fried bitter gourd with coconut paste and 1.5 cups of water.
  5. Add chopped ginger, slit green chillies and salt.
  6. When the gravy thickens, add beaten curd to this.
  7. Adjust salt & switch off the flame.
  8. Temper pachadi with mustard seeds, dried red chillies & curry leaves.
  9. Serve with rice & sambar.
