Masala Gobi Fry (Cauliflower Fry)

Masala Gobi Fry(Cauliflower Fry) serves as a good side dish for Rotis, Chapatis and rice.Cauliflower tastes good when cooked in the right way and is packed with various Minerals,Dietary fibre,Protiens and Vitamins.This is a dry version and if you need gravy,add coconut milk and cook until the masala thickens.Chop Cauliflower into florets or small cubes,according to your wish.But i chopped into smaller pieces because it gives a better texture than florets.



Ingredients


  1. Cauliflower                          -  1 Medium sized          
  2. Ginger-Garlic paste             -  1 tbsp
  3. Onion                                  - 1 
  4. Tomato                                -1 small
  5. Red chilli powder                -  1 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder                 -  1/4 tsp
  7. Coriander powder               - 1 tbsp
  8. Cumin seeds                       - 1/4 tsp
  9. Salt                                      - As per taste
  10. Oil                                        - 10 spoons
  11. Curry Leaves 
  12. Coriander leaves                 - For Garnishing
Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pan , add cumin seeds,curry leaves and sauté just for a few seconds.
  2. Add onion and when it becomes transparent,add ginger-garlic paste.
  3. Saute until the raw smell leaves.
  4. Then add tomato and sauté for 2 minutes.
  5. When the oil starts to separate ,add all powders and stir well.
  6. After few seconds, add florets and close the pan with a lid.
  7. Cook on a low flame for 5 minutes,stir occasionally so that they do not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  8. Turn off the flame when the florets seems cooked.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves.
