Milk peda / Doodh peda / Milk fudge

Diwali, the festival of lights is the most loved festival in India. Wherever we go outside, we can see buildings and houses decorated with lights, candles, and divas. All the streets, marketplaces, and local shops are flooded with a variety of  crackers, gift boxes, and divas. People exchange gifts and burst crackers on this day. But for me, it is a festival of sweets with gift boxes packed with sweets, chocolates, and dry fruits.
Ingredients
  1. Full cream milk powder - 2 cups
  2. Condensed milk - 1 tin (approximately 400 g)
  3. Butter(unsalted) - 100g
  4. Milk - 2 tbsp
  5. Saffron - few strands
  6. Badam - for garnishing
Preparation
  1. Boil milk and add saffron to this warm milk. Mix well and keep this aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan and melt the butter by keeping the flame lower and stirring continuously, else the butter will get burnt.
  3. Once the butter has melted well, add the full cream milk powder to this.
  4. Keep on stirring the mixture under low flame until the butter gets combined with the milk powder well.
  5. When this mixture gets incorporated, pour the condensed milk.
  6. Stir three ingredients on low flame to avoid burning.
  7. Add milk to this and stir continuously until it starts leaving the sides of a pan.
  8. When the mixture becomes thicken, switch off the flame and transfer this to a plate for cooling down.
  9. Do not allow it to cool too much then we will not be able to make properly shaped pedas.
  10. Take lemon sized balls and make an impression with thumb in the center.
  11. Garnish with a piece of badam in the center.
  12. We can make 18-20 nos of milk pedas with this quantity.
  13. Serve as a snack during festivals like Diwali.
